Why Decontaminate?

When someone who has COVID -19 coughs or exhales they release droplets of infected fluid. Most of these droplets fall on nearby surfaces and objects, such as desks, tables, or telephones. People could catch COVID -19 by touching contaminated surfaces or objects, and then touching their eyes, nose, or mouth

Some people will experience serious illness from COVID -19 and may require hospital care. You should aim to keep your staff and customers safe from Coronavirus by Decontamination Cleaning before re-opening and continue regular cleaning.

What is decontamination?

Infection Control from bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Sars Cov2 virus is the name given by WHO on 11th February 2020. The virus is genetically related to coronavirus. The WHO has declared the coronavirus disease (Covid -19) as a pandemic and an international health emergency.

What types of premises that can be cleaned?

  • Commercial offices

  • Fleets of cars

  • Pubs, clubs & restaurants

  • Residential Care homes

  • Schools

  • Hairdressers/Barbers

  • And many more.

How is Decontamination carried out?

Pre-Assessment/Assessment

A risk Assessment and Method statement will be conducted before cleaning takes place.by our technicians. You will also be provided with COSH safety data.

Step 1 – Sanitisation of all surfaces by trained technician wearing full PPE. Particular attention is applied to high touch frequency areas, such as door handles handrails, light switches, keyboards computer screens and taps.

Step 2 – A fogging machine is used to disperse fine particles of disinfectant, which are dispersed into the air. The disinfectant used either has ingredients listed by the WHO as effective against Sars Cov 2 or meet EN Standards 14476:2013+A1:2015. The products we use are safe to use in food preparation areas. Thy are non-tainting,non stationing and non-corrosive.

How does it work?

Some of the disinfectant we use will leave a barrier film of disinfectant that can last up to 7 days with interim cleaning. The barrier film of disinfectant has microscopic spikes. As the droplets of virus land on surfaces that have been treated it is unable to anchor itself to the surface due to the spikes. The virus will continue to attempt to anchor until it has expended its energy and then dies. These products are subject to availability.

The premises will be safe to enter approximately 1 hour after cleaning has been completed.
